Who We Are

The Experts

The Birmingham Breast Group was founded by two acclaimed clinicians, Mr Naren Basu, Lead Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and Dr Daniel Henderson, an award-winning Consultant Oncologist who, whilst working together at Birmingham’s teaching hospitals, developed a shared vision to set a new bar for the future of breast care.

In particular, Naren and Daniel wanted to bring about the same sort of Multidisciplinary Team approach and quality that is found in the NHS to the private sector, with specialists coming together to make decisions regarding treatment of individuals on a case-by-case basis.

Why Birmingham?

Cutting Edge Facilities

Birmingham is situated in the centre of England and is the UK’s second city. As such, it is a highly accessible location, with high speed trains from London taking just over an hour and twenty minutes into Birmingham’s New Street station. Getting to and from the North is easy too – Manchester can be reached by train in under one and a half hours. Coming into the New Street station is a treat in itself, Grand Central, which sits above it, harbours an impressive collection of shops and restaurants and is of architectural interest.

For domestic and international travellers, Birmingham International Airport provides easy access to the city and connects Birmingham with the rest of the UK, Europe and the world… New York, Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore, Johannesburg, Dubai…and beyond.

Birmingham has five teaching hospitals within the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB). It is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England and home to a multitude of cutting edge facilities. As such, Birmingham attracts the highest calibre of health care professionals and the curious pioneers who are improving our tomorrows.
