Fans of Shakespeare may wish to visit Stratford upon Avon, home to the world famous Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s birthplace. Seventeenth century Warwick Castle will also appeal to historians and can be visited for the day or, for a more immersive experience, overnight in the riverside Knight’s Village.

Chocolate lovers will appreciate an insight into the infamous purple wrapped chocolate at Cadbury’s World. Whilst animal lovers have a host of options with Sea Life Centre Birmingham, Dudley Zoo, Birmingham’s Wildlife Conservation Park and West Midlands Safari Park all of which are within easy reach of the city.
