Who We Are

The Experts

The Birmingham Breast Group was founded by two acclaimed clinicians, Mr Naren Basu, Lead Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and Dr Daniel Henderson, an award-winning Consultant Oncologist who, whilst working together at Birmingham’s teaching hospitals, developed a shared vision to set a new bar for the future of breast care.

In particular, Naren and Daniel wanted to bring about the same sort of Multidisciplinary Team approach and quality that is found in the NHS to the private sector, with specialists coming together to make decisions regarding treatment of individuals on a case-by-case basis.

Our healthcare professionals recognised the need for a governance infrastructure to create a new clinical landscape, built on a collaborative approach with the best minds and practitioners in breast care. Our group is formed of progressive and field-leading specialists, who discuss each individual case and call each other to account – all sharing the same ethos and realising we work better as a team. Within this collegiate environment, opinions are challenged, insights are shared and, as a group, we come together to decide on the best pathway forward. Our shared quest is for excellence in breast care and, ultimately, wellness.

Multi-Disciplinary Team

Safety in Numbers

Our group’s first and foremost priority is the management of health but perhaps where we stand out is our commitment to aesthetic outcome. The very latest techniques and technology in the hands of world-leading clinicians sets our care and results apart.

As a collective, we are committed to keeping up to date with everything new and educational in breast care. Things change rapidly, new drugs are being developed, new surgeries are being performed and we are constantly being enlightened by new papers and insights from our group members and leading academics. We stay on top of this to offer the best and latest treatments, improving outcomes all the time.

Safety in numbers? We think so.
