Personal Bio
James Good is a consultant oncologist with a leading reputation in the sphere of gastro-intestinal oncology and in stereotactic radiotherapy for metastatic (secondary) cancer.
James believes that everyone affected by cancer should have access to compassionate, evidence-based and innovative treatment, and strives to offer this across his practices in Birmingham, Oxford and London.
James trained as a scientist at Cambridge University before focussing on cancer medicine and radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Since moving to Birmingham he has been principle investigator on a a number of trials of immunotherapy and of novel drug and radiotherapy combinations. James pioneered the introduction of MRI-guided radiotherapy in the UK and has developed an international profile in its use, particularly for cancer of the liver and pancreas, and for secondary tumours of all kinds. He is the Clinical Director of Stereotactic Radiotherapy at GenesisCare, a private cancer provider.
Dr Good is a member of a number of professional organisations including the Royal College of Physicians, the Radiosurgery Society, and the European Society of Medical Oncology. He is also an appointed member of the NCRI Clinical and Translational Radiotherapy Group (CT-Rad) and a committee member of the UK SABR Consortium.
